Shelter Dogs, Beautification Day
The beautification project is a partnership between Doglando Foundation and local County Animal Controls, through which volunteers groom shelter dogs while they await adoption. The program was created to relief shelter dogs from pain and discomfort of flea and tick infestation and matting due to neglect and improper grooming care. All dogs get a bath, their ears cleaned and nails clipped. Some may get haircuts, depending on the dog’s coat type.
Shelter Enrichment Program
This program allows shelters to receive assistance in designing, building and installing an enrichment yard for dogs while they await adoption. Through this program, shelters/rescue groups will receive indoor and outdoor enrichment activities/toys/equipment, and their staff will receive ongoing guidance and training on proper implementation of enrichment exercises for shelter dogs.
Rescue and Shelter Awareness Programs
Several times a year the Doglando Foundation will hold events that will allow rescues and shelters to showcase their animals. These events are free to 501c3 rescues and shelters so that anyone may participate. By holding these events, we want to make the public aware that there are a wide variety of dogs available for adoption.
